In a bizarre collaboration that challenges conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes resonate through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden cult.
The adventure centers on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Transformations
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who finish the mission will receive an unique katana alongside numerous items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe

Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "The Enigma."
